AMAZON PRIME JUST ANNOUNCED 5 NEW WEB SERIES AND YOU CAN’T MISS THEM!

Ever since Amazon Prime Video announced its upcoming web series lineup, the anticipation has been unbearable. Amazon Prime Video is an American video-on-demand over-the-top (OTT) streaming and rental service offered by Amazon. It primarily distributes movies and television series produced by Amazon Studios or licensed to Amazon through Amazon Originals.

Audiences in India have diverse tastes and preferences about entertainment. Some people often watch classic love stories, while others enjoy fairy-tale thrillers. Some people like to watch documentaries, while others, like me, embrace any genre and wait for exciting twists and turns. Hence, for a country with such diverse choices, OTT platforms are always on their toes to bring out new and engaging content for viewers.

On March 19, 2024, Prime Video released its highly anticipated content lineup for the year. While there are a few promising acts I’m looking forward to, I’m particularly excited about the following 5 releases:

3 Seasons of Panchayat

One of the first web series I ever watched was Panchayat. Starring Jeetendra Kumar, Neena Gupta and others, the series is directed by Chandan Kumar. The story revolves around Abhishek Tripathi (Jitendra Kumar), who becomes the new secretary of the Gram Sabha of Phulera, a village in Uttar Pradesh. It takes a comic route depicting the various problems that arise in Abhishek’s life as he gets more involved in the daily lives of the villagers and how he forms strong bonds with them in the process. I really enjoyed the first two seasons which aired in 2020 and 2022 respectively. Now with the arrival of the new season, I’m ready to watch and finish in one go 😉

Season 2 of Mirzapur

When Prime started announcing upcoming releases, the loudest buzz was felt Mirzapur. Directed by Karn Anshuman, Gurmeet Singh and Mihir Desai, the series boasts of prestigious names like Pankaj Tripathi, Rasika Duggal, Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi, Vijay Verma and more. The first season was released in 2018 and since then it has become one of India’s most popular web series based on the life of mafias and illegal trade, the show has become a platform for many trendy memes thanks to some of its witty dialogues! While the final season aired in 2020, every fan (myself included) was looking forward to the third season. With the announcement finally made, we are curious to witness what unfolds.

BANDISH BANDITS Season 2

When someone mentions Bandish banditsI make fun of the lyrics myself “Sajan Bin Ayena Mohe Nindiyaan“. The song, along with the serial, is a melodious treat for its audience. Located in the beautiful city of Jaipur, Bandish bandits It follows the story of two aspiring musicians, Radh Rathore (Ritvik Bhumik) and Tamannaah Sharma (Shreya Chaudhary) and how their two different worlds collide due to their love for music and each other. The first season ended on a cliffhanger (without spoilers)! Directed by Anand Tiwari, we hope the next season unfolds the story with more soothing tunes and explores the electrifying chemistry between the lead actors.

PAATAL LOK Season 2

If I had to explain Paatal Lok In one sentence, it will be a fabulous thriller that will not make you angry. The show takes an interesting approach to stopping psychological crime by referencing Indian mythological terms like swarga (heaven), dharti (earth) and paatali (hell). This is done to describe the different classes and places where crime occurs. The serial stars Jaydeep Ahlawat, Gul Panagi, Abhishek Banerjee and others. Directed by Avinash Arun and Prosit Roy, the first season was enough to give sleepless nights to all the viewers. With the second season starting soon, we are all ready to experience the thrill and excitement again.

Family man season 3

My father and I have a common love family man. I believe Manoj Bajpayee excels in every role given to him. Hence, his role as Srikanth Tiwari was perfect casting. The story revolves around Srikanth and his best friend J.K. Talpade (Sharib Hashmi) who work in the Threat Analysis and Surveillance Cell (TASC) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Both of them team up to solve cases related to crime and threats to national security. Apart from that, there is also Srikanth’s family, especially his two children, who are the funniest elements of the series. Atharva (Vedant Sinha), Srikanth’s younger son, is hilarious. Vedant’s acting and dialogue delivery cracks me up every time. The serial is directed by Raj and DK. The first two seasons were released in 2019 and 2021. I’m still in awe of the sense of suspense and duality of comedy in this series.

The list above accurately describes my favorites coming soon to Amazon Prime. Lately I have felt that there is nothing interesting to watch on the internet. However, with these releases, I’m sure my hours of entertainment are ready for the coming months!
