Couldn’t have asked for a better co-star: Dakota Fanning on working with Andrew Scott at Ripley’s | web series
Dakota Fanning and Andrew Scott will be seen together for the first time in the upcoming Netflix series Ripley. In a new interview with Coming Soon.net, Dakota opened up about being attacked by Andrew’s character on the show.
Antichemistry with Andrew Scott
When asked about their “anti-chemistry,” Dakota said, “That’s a good way to put it. Yeah you can only we could just make anti-chemistry because we friends had real chemistry so it was fun. I was so excited to do those scenes with Andrew and to play a character who sees Tom Ripley for who he really is and doesn’t trust him and can explore that dynamic, I was so excited to just not have to play someone who’s been lying to him all this time that actually Being able to go up to your feet and have all that tension like you said. And you know, the fun where, you know, you say something with a smile, but the intention behind it is, I hope I never see you again.
The best person to work for
“They have a very funny relationship. And I loved it, I loved it. I love Andrew and I loved working with him. And we walked this road together. And it was a long journey. And it was challenging, fun, and challenging. And everything was everything, and you just couldn’t have asked for a better person to work with,” he said.
Ripley is the Netflix adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s novel and will be released on Netflix on April 4th. “In the series, Tom Ripley, a New York mobster in the early 1960s, hires a wealthy man to travel to Italy to convince his vagrant son Dickie Greenleaf to return home,” reads the show’s synopsis. “Tom’s acceptance of the job is the first step into a difficult life of deception, fraud, and murder. Meanwhile, Marge Sherwood, an American living in Italy, suspects darker motives behind Tom’s benevolence.”
