‘Maidan’ brings back Bollywood sports movies!
There was a time in Bollywood when three to four sports films were produced every year, many of which were successful. Now it seems like time has passed. Looking at the fate of films like “83,” which was so much talked about, will “Maidan” be able to regain its glory?
The much-awaited final trailer of ‘Maidaan’ has been released. The film depicts the underdog story of Team India’s journey to victory in its first international soccer match. Here, Ajay Devgn plays Raheem, an Indian soccer coach who finds players from different parts of India who can play their best in any position.
There is a major obstacle on his way to accomplishing this momentous task: Gajraj Rao, who provides Raheem with reality checks time and again.
One of the biggest attractions of “Maidan” is AR Rahman. He can take things to the next level with his unique sound. For that matter, we are already enjoying his latest album ‘Chamkila’. So, we can expect some soulful tracks from this movie as well.
The trailer feels OK overall, but what’s missing here is a bit of newness. There’s nothing unique on display, nothing that would make people want to see it in theaters. It’s all good and nothing special. Will Ajay Devgn’s ability to engage audiences bring them back to theaters? You will have to wait until April 10, 2024.
