Crew is a noteworthy film in mainstream Hindi cinema as it does not have any male stars in its main cast. Kapil Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh play supporting roles in this film. The film was the third biggest opening Hindi film of the year after The Fighter and Shaitan. Fighter opened at Rs 2.46 crore and Shaitan opened at Rs 15.21 crore. The film overtook Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s ‘Teri Burton Mein Aisa Urja Jiya’ which released at Rs 7.02 crore.

‘Cru’ is a very important film for Kareena as her last theatrical release was ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ opposite Aamir Khan. The film was a remake of the cult classic Forrest Gump, but it was a box office disaster. The film opened with Rs 110 crore and collected Rs 6000 crore in theatrical release. This is Kriti’s second success after ‘Teri Burton Mein Aisa Urja Jiya’ which earned Rs 820 crore at the box office.

Tabu’s last box office hit was Drishyam 2 in 2022, which grossed Rs 240.54 crore. Her last theatrical release was ‘Bholaa’, which grossed only around Rs 820 crore.

Crew is produced by Ekta Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Digvijay Purohit under Balaji Motion Pictures and Anil Kapoor Films & Communication Network. Ekta and Rhea had previously produced the film Thank You for Coming, which starred Bhumi Pednekar in an important role, but the film received mixed reviews and the film did not perform well at the box office.
