Sharad Kelkar will be synonymous with Wolverine for a long time to come: Mantra Mugdh

When Marvel’s Wastelanders was brought to India in 2023, the director of RJ Mantra Mugdh was at the center of its creation. Now, with Audible India, he is bringing the Wolverine series to audio format. Considering Wolverine is synonymous Hugh Jackman, it wouldn’t be easy to find a voice that would live up to the iconic role. Mugdh says that was it, thanks Sharad Kelkar. “Sharad was one of our top picks. With that, he will be synonymous with Wolverine for the Indian audience for a long time,” he says.
So far, the Hindi adaptation of Marvel’s Wastelanders has been a stellar offering, with Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Masaba Gupta and others joining the voice cast. But with Wolverine, Mugd wanted to be authentic to the characters when casting. “As a professional voice artist, Sharad made my job easy. She is a wonderful actress and it helped to adapt the many emotions of Wolverine. Mithila Palkar brought an inherent innocence to her Sofia character.” He adds that they ensured that the action and drama of the Marvel Universe was effectively translated into the audio medium.
