ColorStream 8000 Series
MELVILLE, N.Y., March 26, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — It has been announced that two new models – the ColorStream 8200 and 8110 – will look to build on the success of the ColorStream 8000 series of high-speed inkjet presses. Today by Canon USA Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions.
ColorStream has proven to be an attractive investment in high-volume print production environments since its initial launch in 2011, with more than 1,800 masts installed worldwide. The latest additions to the series now include the ColorStream 8200, which offers a maximum speed of 656 feet per minute, making it one of the most productive models in the series. The ColorStream 8110, which offers 361 feet per minute, is an additional option for print service providers (PSPs) who want to invest in a new ColorStream press while maintaining their existing finishing equipment.
Both new models feature native 1200 DPI printers and highly pigmented water-based polymer inks designed for a wide range of colors on uncoated, recycled, inkjet coated matte and inkjet paper without pretreatment. The use of durable, long-lasting components, along with automation features such as automatic fusing management and close communication with internal finishing equipment, reflect Canon’s focus on supporting customers to achieve productivity while simultaneously working to reduce the environmental impact of its products and operations.
The ColorStream 8200 can produce 2860 impressions per minute. Its capabilities make it attractive to PSPs that need to handle production peaks with ease when producing a product mix including transactional announcements, publications, books, direct mail and product inserts.
Users can combine the ColorStream 8000 Series with PRISMAproduction, an integrated and scalable, high-performance workflow and production management platform that automates and integrates data entry and conversion, prepress and printing. PRISMAproduction, which enhances files for high-quality production printing, is designed to enable advanced presentation functions and PDF pre-flight and preparation, data enrichment and page composition in one flexible print process through a single platform. PRISMAproduction’s batch functionality is also designed to allow customers to optimize order processing and production sequencing in line with the current trend of reducing run times, resulting in efficient production management on the ColorStream 8000 Series.
“We are excited to announce the additions of the ColorStream 8110 and the flagship ColorStream 8200 and look forward to them contributing to our goal of delivering outstanding productivity, efficiency and quality in both print and finishing,” said Shinichi “Sam” Yoshida . , Executive Vice President and General Manager, Canon USA, Inc. “Increasing productivity without compromising reliability and quality remains the goal, and these models can work together to provide our customers with the resources they need to succeed.”
