BTS J-Hope docu-series Hope on the Street OTT release date, new album connection explored and more | web series
Aside from his flamboyant identity as a member of global sensation BTS, J-Hope’s individualistic presence is one of a kind. Known as the “dance leader” of the septet, “94 Liner” has earned that title for a reason, and his origins tie back to his previous BTS past. He confirmed his historic 2022 Lollapalooza headline set, becoming the first Korean artist to headline a major US music festival. The award-winning artist’s album Jack in the Box marked his official foray into solo territory. The 30-year-old rapper continues his streak despite not being required to serve in the military, the 30-year-old rapper is ready to embark on another career-defining outing this month.
Along with its follow-up mini-album, the documentary series Hope on the Street accompanying the premiere video will debut the day before the music premiere. Under the same name, the upcoming projects will work together as a time machine and return to J-Hope’s dancing roots.
The BTS member’s former instructor, South Korean street dancer Boogaloo Kin, will be joining him again on this trip. Together they will explore the streets of Osaka, Seoul, Paris, New York and Gwangju (J-Hope’s hometown) and meet inspiring street dancers in their worldwide dance venture. “Follow J-Hope as he pursues a dream that connects his past, present, and future,” reads an excerpt from the official synopsis for the Hope on the Street docu-series, which documents his street dance reporting.

BTS J-Hope doc Hope on street release date
The 6-episode docu-series will be available on Prime Video on Thursday, March 28 at 12pm KST (or March 27 at 11am ET). New episodes will be released every Thursday and Friday on the streamer. South Korean viewers can stream the series on TVING.
What does the prolific dancer hope to achieve with the documentary? “I want fans to see what dance genres I’ve worked with and my overall journey in the world of dance,” J-Hope said in a teaser video ahead of the series premiere.

Like the docu-series, J-Hope’s upcoming EP is also a 6-part record that will be released on March 29th. An official press release described it as “a variety of sounds and moods that showcase j-hope’s musical prowess and depth. ” The star-studded album features several collaborations, including J-Hope’s Jungkook, Benny Blanco, Chic’s Nile Rodgers, Le Sserafim’s Huh Yunjin, Jinbo the SuperFreak, South Korean hip-hop giant Gaeko (Dynamic Duo) and yoonmirae.
An earlier press release also touted the relationship between the documentary series and the album, adding that “J-Hop will convey messages from his tracks through the documentary.”

Each of these tracks from the album dive into J-Hope’s artistic street dance roots before he debuted as a member of BTS. Neuron is a direct reference to his old dance band. The song’s old-school 2000s hip-hop bent is reminiscent of the genre that “had a significant influence on J-Hope as an artist,” in addition to reflecting the album’s overarching theme.
The newly released “What If” is a reworked “dance mix” of J-Hope’s 2022 track of the same name. In addition, the street is proud of his solo performance, opposing in 2023 J. Collaborating with Cole on the track.
