Kristen Stewart’s Love Lies Bleeds co-star breaks down the film’s sex scenes

Kristen Stewart Love lies bleeding Co-star Katie O’Brien explains how their characters’ sex scenes were put together and how their filming is far from being as “sexy” as some might think.

In an interview with the people Magazine, the former police officer and competitive bodybuilder explained that a lot of not-so-sexy action went into her intimate scenes with Stuart Law and Dave Franco’s GG in the A24 movie.

“It’s not glamorous, and it’s really not sexy when you do it,” she said. “I mean, first of all, you have a guy with a microphone hovering over you while everything is going on.”

Love lies bleeding Director Rose Glass, who also sat down with the publication, shared that before production begins, the actors and intimacy coordinators discuss what they feel comfortable with and exactly what will happen in the scene. There are even nudist riders listed in their contracts detailing what will be shown, from what angle, and how much or how little.

“We stick to the script for those scenes, because with intimate scenes there is massive consent that goes into everything,” O’Brien said. “If anything changes, we have to go back and sign more papers. We just had to agree to everything ahead of time.

In addition to the typical modest clothing used when filming sex scenes in projects, the actress and director shared that their intimacy coordinators also used other materials to cover cast members’ private parts, including “a lot of tape.”

“Our intimacy coordinator wanted to make sure there were a lot of layers between Kristen and I, so she tied up one layer of fabric, especially in our first bedroom scene, where you have to see my side, so we couldn’t wear it,” the former bodybuilder said. Underwear.’ “Then, I think there was another layer, and there was literally a cut-up yoga mat that I put on top of me, and I duct-taped it down.”

O’Bryan revealed that she was given a hockey cup to use on occasion, while Franco used a deflated yoga ball as a barrier between them during their intimate scene. “There have been some funny little experiments with protection,” she added. “I felt like it was not exciting and too silly.”

The director noted that while filming scenes, the actors and crew are usually thinking about everything else going on, such as cameras, microphones, angles and choreography, rather than the intimate simulation happening in front of them.

Sometimes they worry about cameras falling on actors and hope it doesn’t happen, Glass joked. She pointed to one scene in the film that was filmed in a small bathroom with a handheld camera in a long take.

“(The poor camera operator) was probably standing there with his arms about to fall off,” she said. “Even though he makes these beautiful women have sex in front of him, he says, ‘No, please make them stop. ‘My arm hurts!’”
