Film reviews within 48 hours of release are prohibited, says Kerala HC amicus curiae in Bollywood

The amicus curiae report proposes creating a dedicated portal on the cyber cell to receive complaints related to review bombing.

He also advised that critics should provide constructive criticism and avoid using disrespectful language, personal attacks, and derogatory remarks towards actors, filmmakers, and others. Instead of tearing down the movie, you should offer constructive criticism.

The report says legal and ethical standards and professionalism should be maintained. Justice Devan Ramachandran directed the report to convey the central government’s position.

The high court said people are starting to realize the truth behind the negative comments against the film. The court also said that despite negative comments, several new films have been successful recently.

The court submitted guidelines to the court, advising reviewers, including video bloggers, to avoid reviewing movies for the first 48 hours after its release.

The court also said it was understandable that people were aware that many of the negative comments were false or had some purpose.

There have been complaints that video bloggers are intentionally disparaging newly released movies in order to get paid.
