Is Hindi horror movie ‘Climax’ a hint of a sequel? Twist ending explained by R Madhavan
Shaitan, starring Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan, was released in theaters on March 8 and got off to a good start at the box office. The Vikas Bahl-directed horror film is doing well in the coming days and will soon overtake ‘Raaz 3’ to become the highest-grossing Bollywood horror film. The film’s producers have confirmed that a sequel to the film is being planned. But does Shaitan’s ending set it up?
What are the makers saying about the Shaitan sequel?
Speaking at the trailer launch of Shaitan, producer Kumar Mangat Pathak revealed that the makers shot the entire film in just 40 days. He also confessed that he already had the second half of the movie in mind. he said: “40 ding meen shoot hoi hai. Part 2 bihamare dimarg main tayar hai.”
There were expectations that a sequel would be teased towards the end of the movie, but will that really happen? This is one of the pressing questions on the minds of people who haven’t seen this movie yet. Will Shaitan be franchised?
Explaining the ending of Shaitan and the possibility of a sequel
In the ending, Kabir (Ajay Devgn) fights Vanraj (R. Madhavan) and cuts off his tongue, breaking the spell on the girls he possessed. Kabir rescues his daughter Janhvi (Janaki Bodhiwala) and many other girls from Vanraj. Police later reunited the missing girls with their families, but it was also discovered that Vanraj could not be found.
The film returns to the opening scene where it is revealed that Kabir has captured Vanraj and is torturing him. Vanraj appears to survive, but his tongue is cut out and he appears to have lost his hypnotic powers. It’s not clear and the makers haven’t confirmed it either, but if a sequel to Shaitan is made, it might feature a new face as the villain. Or Vanraj may escape from captivity and try to take revenge on Kabir in some other way.
