The audience who went to see the first show of Shaitan on its opening day also praised the film. Trade experts had predicted that Shaitan’s box office collection would cross Rs 100 crore. In fact, many are saying that the worldwide collection on the first day will be around Rs 150 crore plus. For Shaitan to register a decent box office collection in the first weekend, it needs to earn around Rs 500 crore in the weekend. Now, some early estimates are coming out and Shaitan seems to be in the Rs 100-crore+ category. Shaitan opening day box office collection

Shaitan’s opening day box office collection was expected to be in the range of Rs 100 crore to Rs 150 crore. Currently, Ormax is projecting an opening day box office collection of around Rs 108 crore. This is a little lower than the estimated value. However, Shaitan’s reputation on the ground appears to be much better. They seem to be projecting that more than Rs 14 billion (net) in store openings will be required. It is a remake of the Gujarati film ‘Vash’. The Hindi version has a higher budget and fans love the same creepy atmosphere.

Fans are loving Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan’s great acting in the movie. Jyothika, who has made a comeback in Hindi films after several years, is also doing well. She is reprized by Janki Bodhiwala who was in the original film and fans are very excited about her work. Bollywood hasn’t seen a good horror movie for a long time. I hope Shaitan breaks that jinx.
