“Some Hindi films were remade in Malayalam and other languages and were more popular than the originals. Having said that, those who watched this film and liked it, the Mohanlal-starrer I know that the original film was directed by me,” the director added.
The Hindi remake, helmed by late director Nishikant Kamat, stars Ajay Devgn and Tabu, who imitates the character played by Asha Sharath in the original.
