80s movie legend, 68, is unrecognizable 44 years after blockbuster hit, leaving Hollywood and diva rumours.
One of the stars of 1980s HIT films looked completely different after walking off stage after 44 years of huge movie fame.
The actress, who has since moved away from the bright lights of Hollywood, is best known for her roles in An Officer and a Gentleman, Terms of Endearment and The Shadowlands.
Ohio native Debra Lynn Weinger, now 68, has received Academy Award nominations for Best Actress, as well as taking home a Best Actress award from the National Society of Film Critics for Terms of Endearment.
However, it was her role as Sissy in the 1980s blockbuster Urban Cowboy that saw her compete for a slew of official recognition from organizations like BAFTA, Golden Globe and Film Critics.
At the height of her films, she wore a thick, brunette hairstyle, often styled with fringes and in loose waves.
She regularly kept her makeup minimal, allowing her sparkling blue eyes to shine.
Earlier this month, she looked unrecognizable as she showed off her natural beauty at the Drive Away Dolls premiere in New York.
Her signature curls remained, this time highlighted in grey, and she wore a pair of oversized glasses for a chic touch.
She was wrapped in a scarf and checked jacket with a blue blouse.
Debra chose to quit the film industry after receiving numerous accolades and award nominations, instead choosing to work behind the scenes.
She made the movie Forget Paris in 1995 and then was absent from the world of the entertainment industry for six years.
Explaining her absence at the time, Debra was frank: “I’ve wanted to get out for years. I’m tired of hearing myself say I want to quit.
“It’s like opening an interview with ‘I hate interviews!’
“Okay, get out! I stopped reading texts and stopped caring.
“People said, ‘We miss you so much.’ But in the last six years, he’s told me about a movie I should have been in.
“The little I can think of is that the actress was so perfect.”
However, she was also the focus of controversy after refusing to work with the Queen of Pop Madonna.
Debra was chosen for A League Of Their Own however she reportedly pulled out because she did not consider the holiday singer a serious enough actress.
During her time off, she worked as a lecturer at Harvard University and wrote a book.
However, she returned to the screen in the Netflix comedy The Ranch between 2016 and 2020.
