Jacob Elordi has been quietly working on his filmography since he was a teenager, which may come as a surprise to those who have only gotten to know him through a few recent films and shows.

The actor hails from Brisbane, Australia, and his first few films are beach romp featuring fellow Aussies like Kylie Minogue, Paul Hogan, Olivia Newton-John, and Radha Mitchell. His first real break came when he was hired to play bad boy Noah Flynn in the Netflix hit Kissing booth. After later landing the role of Nate Jacobs on HBO tranceElordi came into his own and started appearing in prestigious films.

At 6’5″, Elordi casts a commanding shadow over any movie or television set. The 26-year-old currently has several new films in the works, including a Frankenstein movie written and directed by Guillermo del Toro. Elordi is set to play the monster alongside Mia Goth and Oscar Isaac. Here’s a look at the films that got Elordi to where he is today.

Priscilla (2023)

Elordi portrays Elvis Presley, and is over 5’1″ tall, and is over 5’1″ tall by Cailee Spaeny, who played Priscilla Presley in this biographical drama written, directed and produced by Sofia Coppola. This contrast was intentional and intended to highlight the unequal power dynamic between the former celebrities , which was the main core of the film. Priscilla Presley herself was an executive producer on Priscillawhich was based on a book she co-wrote with Sandra Harmon Facebook and me.

Priscilla The film tells how she met the king when she was 14 and he was 24. Against her parents’ wishes, she went to live with him at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee, eventually marrying him and having a daughter, Lisa Marie Presley. Priscilla’s version of events depicts Elvis as a controlling and deceitful husband who fell victim to drug and alcohol abuse a few years after their marriage. Elordi received praise for his performance in Priscillaespecially his mastery of Elvis’s accent and mannerisms.

Saltburn (2023)

in Saltburn, Elordi takes his funny, upper-class persona to the next level as Felix Caton, a popular student who befriends dim-witted scholarship kid Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan) while studying at Oxford University. After Oliver feeds Felix a bunch of lies about his terrible home life, Felix takes him home to the family’s summer mansion, Saltbourne, for the summer holiday. Oliver quickly warms up to Felix’s family – with the exception of his cousin Farley (Archie Madekwe) – but it doesn’t take long before things go wrong and someone (or several people) ends up dead.

Saltburn It contains some of the most shocking and thought-provoking moments in modern film, and the film simply wouldn’t be the same without Elordi’s cocky grin.

Kissing booth (2018, 2020, 2021)

This is Netflix Kissing booth A film series based on the book by Beth Rickles. It stars Joey King as Elle, a nerdy high school student who has a crush on her boyfriend Lee’s (Joel Courtney) older brother, Noah (Elordi). Elle tries to hide her feelings for Noah, but when a school fundraiser places Elle blindfolded behind a kissing booth table, she and Noah share a kiss that neither of them can deny means something.

The critics weren’t kind Kissing boothBut many Netflix viewers sang a different tune. It was so popular among subscribers that the streamer produced two more films in the series. You can see all three Kissing booth Movies on Netflix.

He went in this direction (2024)

The actor puts aside his good-boy image in this crime drama from first-time director Jeffrey Darling. Inspired by a true story, the film revolves around a strange encounter between animal trainer Jim (played by Zachary Quinto), his chimpanzee, and a traveler who turns out to be a serial killer named Larry Ranis (Elordi).

A little backstory: In the 1960s, Ranis went on a killing spree near Kalamazoo, Michigan and killed five people. During his rampage, he met Jim, who was the sole survivor of Rhaenys’ spree. The film explores what happened during their time together that day to make Rhaenys save Jim’s life.

Sweet East (2023)

This road trip satire was written by Nick Pinkerton and directed by Sean Price Williams. The story revolves around a high school student named Lillian (Talia Ryder) who leaves her home in South Carolina for the first time ever and embarks on a journey along the East Coast of the United States. Besides Elordi, Ayo Edebiri, Earl Cave and Simon Rex also star.

Deep water (2022)

Elordi has no major role in Adrian Lyne (Unfaithful) The latest exciting psychological thriller Deep waterHowever, it still makes a lot of noise! He plays Charlie, a young lothario who has an affair with Melinda Van Allen (Ana de Armas), who is married to Vic Van Allen (Ben Affleck). Melinda and Vic claim to have an open marriage, but somehow Melinda’s lovers (possibly including Charlie) end up dead.

Screenwriters Zach Helm and Sam Levinson based this film on the novel by Patricia Highsmith (The Talented Mr. Ripley) Novel 1957, also called Deep water.

2 hearts (2020)

This romantic drama follows the parallel lives of Chris (Elordi), Jorge (Adan Cantu), and their partners (Tierra Scopay as Samantha and Radha Mitchell as Leslie) as they grapple with all the “what ifs” life can throw at us. . Jorge suffers from a lung condition and is told he won’t live past the age of 20, while Chris is a healthy, athletic firefighter who puts the world through his paces. Suddenly, the script flips and Chris is lying in a hospital bed, leaving the viewer wondering what’s real while marveling at how quickly life can change for all of us.

Very excellent Mr. Dundee (2020)

In this ’80s fest, Crocodile Dundee himself (Paul Hogan) comes out of retirement to star alongside Chevy Chase, John Cleese and Olivia Newton-John (in her final film performance). The story is that Hogan is about to be knighted by the Queen when someone slanders him, so he is forced to clear his name by any means necessary. Elordi plays Chase, Hogan’s real-life son.

Morgue set (2019)

Morgue set is an anthology of related horror stories told by a mortician named Montgomery (Clancy Brown). Elordi stars in Part 2: Unprotected, a cautionary tale about a 1960s boy named Jake (Elordi) who hooks up with a girl named Sandra (Emma Horvath) at a party. While having sex, he removes the condom he is wearing, and the next morning he wakes up to a worrying rash. Disturbingly, he soon discovers that his romantic dalliance led to the pregnancy…and not for Sandra.

Swinging safari (2018)

Elordi made his feature film debut in this fun beach movie called Swinging safari. Set in the 1970s, this Australian comedy-drama is written by Stephen Elliott, best known for his work on… The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Swinging safari (Original title: Flammable children) The film revolves around a teenager coming of age in a small beach town when a huge blue whale washes up on shore. The cast includes big name Australian talent such as Guy Pearce, Julian McMahon, Asher Keedy, Jeremy Sims and Kylie Minogue. Available to rent on Apple TV.
