“Article 370” Hindi movie review

Considering Article 370: Unashamedly glorifying government policies

In recent years, there has been a disturbing trend of films pandering to the ruling party, including those directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri. kashmir file (2022) or by Sudipto Sen. kerala story (2023).

Latest Aditya Suhas Jambhale’s Article 370fits perfectly into this category.

The film is divided into six chapters and moves between the 2015 and 2019 timelines.

Synopsis

Article 370 It mainly follows the journeys of two women. One is Zuni Haksar (Yami Gautam), a Kashmiri intelligence officer.

She has a fiery personality. Zuni does not believe in following orders and acts on instinct, just like the main characters in these types of films do.

She manages to capture and kill Burhan Wani. But this only gets her transferred to Delhi.

At the other end of the spectrum is Rajeshwari (Priya Mani), a bureaucrat.

Rajeshwari is the exact opposite of Zuni in terms of temperament. Rajeshwari is cool as a cucumber. She represents the government’s efforts to repeal Article 370.

Simply put, the story focuses on how Zuni and Rajeshwari play a role in bringing the government’s efforts to fruition.

first half Article 370 Learn more about plot settings. Nothing much happens and as a viewer you feel a certain amount of restlessness. But thankfully the movie picks up speed around the interval point.

There are many thrilling moments in the second half where the audience feels the adrenaline. A special mention must be made of the battle sequences that occur at critical moments. The action choreography here is top notch. Uri: Surgical Strike (2019).

Another USP Article 370 There are two female protagonists. It’s refreshing to see two actors driving the story.

Yami Gautam gave a powerful performance. She does a great job playing the role of a short-tempered and vulnerable character.

Meanwhile, Priya Mani’s performance serves as a perfect complement to Yami’s intensity. The actor underplays her role, but still stands out.

The other supporting characters are also great in their roles, with special mention of Arun Govil as Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The background score by Shashwat Sachdev also goes a long way in making the second half more effective.

big problem Article 370 It depicts a Kashmiri politician. They come across as cartoonish villains rather than proper political figures.

Throughout the film, they are portrayed as greedy people who do nothing but conspire and build stone huts for a fee.

In contrast, it is shown that only Modi & Co. is concerned about the welfare of Kashmir and its people.

And the voices of ordinary Kashmiris are barely audible, except for one elderly man who laments against the valley’s existing leadership.

verdict

Article 370 Works perfectly if you are a follower of Narendra Modi. But for others, it’s a tough pill to swallow.
