Shah Rukh Khan became a superstar Shortly after he started his career in the film industry, However, decades after becoming a superstar, SRK agreed to make the film and did not charge any fees. That was the 2010 film Dulha Mil Gaya, produced by his old friend Vivek Vaswani and starring Sushmita Sen and Fardeen Khan. In a recent interview, Vivek remembered. It is said that when Sushmita suggested Shah Rukh’s name for the role, he had already signed her. Vivek, along with director Mudassar Aziz, took the script to Shah Rukh, who immediately agreed.
In a conversation with Siddharth Kanan, Vivek recalled. “Shah Rukh said, ‘Vivek is here for the first time. I will make a film, it won’t cost me any money.’ He didn’t even listen to the script and made the film. ” Shah Rukh did not have a major role in the film, nor was it a cameo appearance. He was given his 42-minute role, but Vivek made sure that none of his parts were cut at the editing table. “The truth is, this role was exactly 42 minutes in the script and exactly 42 minutes on screen. 42 minutes is not a small amount of time. He gave us five days, so he gave us five days to play. We finished it in five days,” he said.

Vivek said Shah Rukh did exactly what the producers wanted him to do and it was “brilliant”. “Shah Rukh did exactly what we wanted him to do. He didn’t meddle, he didn’t read the script, he was so good, so convincing, so outstanding, that’s the truth.” he said.

In the same chat, Vivek recalled about Shah Rukh’s remuneration for his first film Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman. It is well known that SRK signed several films even before their first release, hence films like ‘Deewana’, ‘Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman’, ‘Chamatkar’, ‘Dil Ashna Hai’ etc. It was produced around the same time. Deewana just happened to be released first. “Shah Rukh wanted ‘Raju Van Gaya Gentleman’ to be the first release, but I thought that if you are a hit, Raju will be sold at a higher price and if you I said if you fail, Raju will save you. Success is not luck but strategy,” he said.
When Shah Rukh was asked how much was paid to Gentleman Raju Van Gaya, Vivek replied, “He took Rs 50,000 for Raju.” But when asked if Shah Rukh would work for even Rs 10,000, Vivek replied: The money was pocket money and he lived in my house. But I want everyone to be paid professionally, and at that time, a salary of 50,000 rupees for a new actor was respectable and not at all low. ”
Vivek claims that he was instrumental in planning Shah Rukh’s early films so that he could become a “marketable” actor. He also revealed that the two had not spoken in four years.
