Mumbai witnessed a star-studded affair on Tuesday (February 20) at the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards Ceremony, which celebrates excellence in the world of cinema.

Shah Rukh Khan and Nayantara emerged as the bright stars of the night, winning the Best Actor and Best Actress titles respectively for their performances in Atlee’s Jawan.

Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga won the prestigious Best Director award for his masterpiece ‘Animal’ starring Ranbir Kapoor. “Animal” earned him 900 million rupees worldwide and became an unprecedented blockbuster.

Bobby Deol, who played the character Abrar brilliantly in Animal, won the award for Best Actor in a Negative Role. His intense and convincing performance won many hearts and was highly praised by audiences and critics alike.



Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal won the prestigious Best Actor Award (Critics Category) for his brilliant role as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw in Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur.
