Meghan Markle ‘not coming back’ for Suits reboot, confirms star is close to show creator | web series
Fans of Meghan Markle and legal drama Suits might want to pick up a tissue. While the reboot is official, it won’t feature the former paralegal-turned-Duchess. A close friend of the show’s creator confirmed to the Mirror that Rachel Zane, played by Markle for seven seasons, will not be returning, officially putting an end to speculation about her potential involvement. But there is more to the story.
Meghan Markle ruled out of Suits reboot
A Suits spin-off called Suits: LA is in development, bringing new faces and drama to the West Coast. While show creator Aaron Korsh is preparing a pilot and series outline, don’t expect Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, to be involved. He is not the only one excluded; The showrunner is reportedly aiming for the new version to build on its own success without relying on former stars of the original series.
The decision may seem sudden given the show’s massive popularity, but Korsh’s close friend and former Suits co-star Rachel Harris confirmed it during her recent appearance at the MUAHS Awards in Beverly Hills.

According to Rachel Harris, who appeared on Suits as Sheila Sazs, “Well, here’s the thing — the only thing I know for a fact is that Aaron Korsh, who created the original Suits, I know personally: and of course, when the wind It came to me. That they were doing Suits LA, I was like, OK, so when do I work? And he was very clear with me that none of the previous cast would be on Suits LA.” Recently, speculation about Meghan’s possible return to the show has grown amid tensions within the royal family, especially since she quit acting following her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018.

Meghan Markle and others may make cameos on Spin-Off
The actor also revealed that while there is no specific full-time role for Markle or any of the other original cast members, there is still a small chance for potential crossover appearances or cameos. However, the main focus remains on establishing the new series as a separate entity. Just a few weeks ago, the cast of Suits reunited for a Super Bowl commercial, but the Duchess of Sussex was notably absent from the gathering, further fueling speculation about her involvement in the upcoming series. “I’m sure they want it to grow on its own without the original cast. That doesn’t mean we won’t enter. Harris added.
Harris noted that Korsh did not mention Megan throughout the conversation. “He hasn’t said anything to me about Meghan coming in. We’re not talking about the Duchess. It’s gross. She’s got enough going on. You know what I mean? Let’s leave it for God’s sake. Right.”
