Naseeruddin Shah stops watching Hindi movies
Naseeruddin Shah always speaks his mind. He doesn’t hold back on the words he’s often criticized for. But no one can stop the veteran actor from speaking his mind. At a recent event, he slammed Bollywood and said he doesn’t watch Hindi movies these days.
According to reports, director Shah expressed his disappointment with Hindi films at the event and said that there is hope for Hindi films and that they would be better if filmmakers made films without making money.
On Saturday, Naseeruddin Shah attended ‘Meer Ki Dilli, Shahjahanabad: An Evolving City’ in New Delhi. The 73-year-old said, “I’m really disappointed that we keep making the same films even though we proudly say that Hindi cinema is 100 years old. I have stopped watching movies. I don’t like Hindi movies at all.” ‘.
He further added, “Hindustani food is loved everywhere because it has substance.” What kind of content are there in Hindi movies? Yes, they are noticed everywhere. They say, “How exotic, How Indian, how colorful.” There’s no substance to it, so you’ll get bored of it quickly. ”
Further, the ‘Masoom’ actor said there is hope for Hindi films only if filmmakers stop looking at them as a means of making money. “But I feel it’s too late. The movies that thousands of people have seen will continue to be made and people will continue to watch them for God knows how long, so it’s no longer a problem. There is no strategy. Therefore, it is their responsibility for those who want to make serious films to show today’s reality in such a way that no fatwa or ED comes knocking at their door,” he said.
On the work front, Shah will be seen in ‘Ur Jalul Ishq’ which also stars Vijay Varma, Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sharib Hashmi.
