after days Alia Bhatt Joining Prime Video’s crime drama miniseries Poacher as an executive producer, the creators have released an awareness video based on the upcoming show, in which the National Award-winning actor offers a glimpse into the world of poachers and its narrative.
The 120-second video, which takes place in a forest, begins by showing a group of forest officers clearing the area as Alia Bhatt enters the frame. Through the light equipment set up for visibility in the desert, a clearly shaken flame appears. “Ashok’s murder was reported at 9 am today,” he is heard musing. “Third this month. His body was lifeless… mutilated… Ashok was just 10 years old. He never saw his killers.
As a female officer crosses the aliyah to gather evidence, we hear, “They might think they can get away with it. But they won’t. Just because Ashok was not one of us does not make this crime any less important.”
Accompanied by ominous background music, he insists, “Because killing is killing,” as the camera pans to the ground, where dried leaves form the outline of an elephant’s carcass with bloodstains.

Sharing the teaser on Instagram, Alia wrote, “Spent less than a day in the jungle shooting this awareness video but still got chills. A murder is a murder… and I can’t wait to see the full story through the eyes of Richie Mehta and our star cast.”
Created and directed by Richie Mehta, creator of the Emmy award-winning show Delhi Crime, Poacher stars Nimisha Sajayani, Roshan Mathew, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Kani Khusruti, Ranjitha Menon and Maala Parvathy. The series will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on February 23, 2024.
