Hyderabad: The inspiration of real incidents for movies, series and books is not new, but on the contrary, the same may bother someone. A similar case was reported in Hyderabad where two men planned the crime of counterfeiting currency notes after taking inspiration from the Shahid Kapoor starrer web series ‘Farzi’. A computer expert, prime accused Vanam Laxminarayana allegedly printed the fake notes using a screen printer and laminating machine on green foil paper, JK Excel bond papers and cutters, PTI reported.

He decided to circulate these fake notes in the market and therefore roped in one Erukala Pranai Kumar after promising him a share in the profits of the crime. However, Kumar was caught testing these fake notes at a fruit and vegetable market with a fake currency of Rs 20,000.

The police arrested two and also recovered fake money worth 4 million GEL. “We seized 810 fake currency notes in the denomination of 500 rubles, which were intended for distribution. Printers, scanners and other items were also seized,” the police said, citing the news agency. During the investigation, the police found that the main culprit, Laxminarayana, was earlier involved in mortgage fraud. The accused are now in Hyderabad police custody.
