Hyderabad: Two members of a gang who were inspired by the web series ‘Farzi’ and started printing fake Indian currency were arrested by the Cyberabad Special Operations Group (Balanagar) along with Allapur police on Saturday. The police recovered the fake currency at face value. 4.05 GEL of them apart from printer, laptop and ink.
Acting on a tip-off, the SOT team nabbed V Laxminarayana (37) and E Pranay Kumar (26), both residents of Warangal and staying in different areas of the city.
Laxminarayana bought a printer, laptop and other items and printed the fake currency at his home and approached Pranai Kumar to market the fake currency. “Both decided to exchange fake currency notes with people in the ratio of 1:4 and started looking for buyers when, acting on information, both were nabbed,” said Inspector SOT Balanagar.
A case was registered against them at Allapur police station and both were remanded in custody.
