6 actors who rejected Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s films

Mumbai: Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a famous director in the Indian film industry and many actors and actresses have had the opportunity to work with him. However, some declined his offer for various reasons. Here are some of the actors and actresses who rejected Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s films.

1. Shah Rukh Khan

Of all the roles Ranveer has played in his career so far, Khilji in Padmaavat is probably his best. Nevertheless, Ranveer Sigh was not the first candidate for the role of the villain. After playing the lead role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s first film Devdas, Shah Rukh Khan was offered a second role by the director.

The reason behind SRK’s rejection of the film was revealed in an interview with Film Companion. Kahn admitted that he tends to make villains look terribly glamorous and doesn’t want to portray them in a positive light against real people.

2. Salman Khan

‘Inshallah’ was an ambitious project that featured Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt. Nevertheless, the film was shelved due to creative differences between Khan and Bhansali. Bhansali is reportedly considering SRK to replace Bhaijaan.

3. Ranbir Kapoor

Ranveer Singh was not initially chosen for the role of Goliyon Ki Raasleela (Ram Leela). As claimed, it was Ranbir Kapoor and Saawariya co-star Sonam Kapoor who posed in the poster of OG Ram Leela.

It is also rumored that Baahubali actor Prabhas has been approached for the role of Shahid Kapoor in Padmaavat. According to Filmfare, the actor was interested in working under a great director like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, but was not interested in the role he was offered.
