Karan Johar hints at new movie, fans speculate it’s Sarzameen with Ibrahim, Kajol | Bollywood

Film director Karan Johar has revealed about his next film. However, he claims this is not a movie announcement. The filmmaker posted a note on his Instagram handle on Sunday with the caption, “Let the speculation begin!” (stopwatch emoji). The memo’s title read, “This is not a movie announcement!” The memo explains that the film’s team has been shooting an “interesting” film over the past year, but that important aspects of it have been kept secret even from the crew, per the debut director’s decision.

1. “A superstar from the south has brought big things to all of India!”

Will it be Dhanush for Captain Miller? Mahesh Babu in Guntur Kaalam? Or Prasanth Verma of Hanuman? Well, some followers speculated that it is Prithviraj Sukumaran in Salar: Part 1 – Truce, a little later than Sakranthi’s release. Is that also Prabhas? Well, fans stuck with Prithviraj.

2. “A much-loved actress who continues to awe us with her emotional energy on celluloid.”

Well, this could be many things, but fans guessed that it was Kajol.

3. “A legendary debut actor who works tirelessly to find his place in the light of extraordinary talent and struggles with his obsession with the N-word! But he keeps his head down and just does his job. Yes!”

Fans speculated that the person was Ibrahim Ali Khan, the son of actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh. He was also an assistant director in Karan’s ‘Rocky Our Rani Ki Prem Kahaani’ last year. Last year, Ibrahim’s sister and actor Sara Ali Khan also revealed that she had started shooting for her acting debut.

The note further informed fans that the film is ready and its release is just around the corner. Fans were encouraged to guess the title and other details so they could be invited to get a glimpse of the movie. While one user claimed that it was Dostana 2 starring Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor, which was supposed to be shelved and recast, the majority claimed that the film in question was Sarzameen.

Last year, we exclusively revealed details about this project. A source close to the development told Hindustan Times: “Of course, he (Ibrahim) reminds everyone of Saif Ali Khan. When he comes on set, it feels like Saif from 20 years ago stepped in. He was so young and just He is a real carbon copy of his father.” The source also added that Kajol plays a “key role”.

‘Sarzameen’ is directed by Kayoze Irani, son of actor Boman Irani. He appeared in Karan’s 2012 campus caper ‘Student of the Year’ and made his directorial debut with a short film starring Manav Kaur and Shefali Shah in Karan’s 2021 Netflix Indian anthology ‘Ajeeb Daastaans’ fulfilled. ‘Sarzameen’ marks Kayose’s feature film debut.
