Siddharth Anand talks about comparing Fighter and Tom Cruise’s Top Gun | Bollywood

The Fighter is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Hrithik Roshan plays the lead role of an Indian Air Force (IAF) officer. When the first look of the film was released a few weeks ago, many users were comparing the Siddharth Anand film to the Hollywood film series Top Gun starring Tom Cruise. In a recent interview with Zoom, director Siddharth Anand addressed this reaction, saying it was “inevitable” but adding that audiences need to treat Indian films with more “respect”. Regarding comparisons with the Top Gun movie, director Siddharth said in a Zoom interview, “I think it’s inevitable.As a filmmaker, you have to be prepared to be called Top Gun if you make a movie on a plane.There are references in the plane. Because there are no points,” he added. “That’s why they believe that we won’t be as creative and that we’ll do rip-offs. We need to start looking at our films with a little more respect and believe that we won’t be as creative and will do things that are rip-offs. You have to always try not to believe that there is, even in the West, we are taking inspiration from content created in the East.”

“There’s only so much you can actually do.”

Director Siddharth also elaborated on the comparison, saying that he felt that many Western films were also similar to his previous films. “Recently, there have been a lot of instances where when I shot some sequences, the sequences were similar to movies that were released later, franchise movies that were very big in the West, saying they copied us. They’re not going to copy us. Copy us. So let’s be real. There’s only so much you can actually do, and there’s some overlap. Make a difference. “You have to do it with the X factor. The Top Gun comparisons are going to be blown to pieces next stage. The first five minutes,” he said.

The fighter is said to pay homage to the sacrifices and patriotism of the Indian Armed Forces. The film revolves around Air Dragon, a new elite force commissioned by the Air Headquarters in response to militancy in the Srinagar Valley.
