The fighter was denied release in all Gulf countries except the UAE
According to reports, the Fighter has been refused release in all Gulf countries except the UAE. The makers of the much-awaited film reportedly failed to get permission from GCC censors to star Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone. According to reports, the censorship review took place on January 10th, followed by an official announcement on January 23rd that The Fighter would not be appearing on screens in nearly all Gulf countries.
The reason for the ban has not been disclosed, but it can be assumed that it is due to rather disturbing or offensive content. Interestingly, Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 was also recently banned from theatrical release in Kuwait and Qatar.
The ban could cost the Fighters team about $500,000 to $1 million in box office revenue. The film’s production team has not yet commented on the ban.
