‘You have to start from the starting point…’: Rohit Shetty talks about son Ishaan pursuing a career in films | Bollywood
New Delhi (India), January 21 (ANI): Rohit Shetty is not only a successful director, producer and show host but also a doting father to his son Ishaan.
In an exclusive chat with ANI, the ‘Golmaal’ director spoke about his son’s aspirations for the film industry.
“He wants to be in movies… He is 17 years old now, but he wants to be in movies. He represents our third generation and has already made his career choice. He wants to be in movies. But I told him, “Finish your studies.” “First, travel and work with me.” I told him is preparing him to enter the industry so that he won’t be blinded by the arc lights. Despite the fact that we live in the same house, it’s not that shocking for him (Ishaan). “He travels by autorickshaw, regular bike or bus, and I travel by car. He shouldn’t think his father has changed. I tell him, “Think of it as if you’re training, you have to start where I was.” “With the other technicians.” You might have to stay in a hotel, but it will be the best training for you than going to film school,” Rohit said.
“You have to deal with all kinds of people. I know and appreciate the reality of being a motorist, because I’m from that place. I can relate to it. I know what he’s thinking. I think every actor and director should go ‘throughout their lives. Every parent who wants their child to be in a movie should have their child travel.’ “I think they should be allowed to go to all film schools, but basic training is the cheapest and most effective option,” the director said. Added.
Prior to this, in July 2023, Rohit shared on his Instagram handle that his son (Ishaan) has started studying at Central Film School in London and is following in his father’s footsteps.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Rohit is currently receiving positive reviews for the recently released web series ‘Indian Police’ starring Sidharth Malhotra, Vivek Oberoi and Shilpa Shetty Kundra.
His next film is ‘Singham Again’ starring Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh and Tiger Shroff. (Ani)
