Meanwhile, according to this anecdote, Raj Kumar said something to the director. He reportedly told him, “You smell like Bijinori oil.” Understandably, Prakash Mehra left after this encounter, feeling insulted. Moreover, according to many reports, Prakash has also gone for films with top actors like Dharmendra and Dev Anand. Raj Kumar was given the role, which was eventually given to Amitabh Bachchan.

The music of the film has been composed by duo Kalyanji Anandji, the cinematography has been handled by N Satyen and the editing has been handled by R Mahadik. Produced on a budget of 9 million rupees, the film managed to collect 17 million rupees at the box office, making it one of the biggest films in Indian cinema.
