Court jester It will premiere at The Cabin in Park City on January 19 before being made available on YouTube later that night.
Last year, a post made reference to Simmons and Schur’s similar appearance went viral, with Schur taking to social media to say he was actively trying to contact Simmons about the possibility of producing a film. “I’ve noticed all the reactions to me playing Richard Simmons in a new biopic,” he wrote in September. “I heard he lives deep in the Big Bear. We’ve been playing phone tag (yes, he still has a phone). I’m trying to make it happen for you guys. Be optimistic.”
“I’m so excited to share the life of Richard Simmons with the world. We all need this biopic now more than ever,” Schur said in a statement announcing the project. “Simmons represents mental health, and getting people to feel good and behave.” His ridiculous nature! When he was on TV, you couldn’t take your eyes off him, and he brought such joy to his appearances that they were nothing but a good time.
