The 2024 Sundance Film Festival jury revealed – The Hollywood Reporter

The 2024 Sundance Film Festival jury, which includes Debra Granik, Adrienne Tomine, and Lena Waithe, has been revealed as members of the U.S. dramatic competition section.

As for the other sections, Shane Burris, Nicole Newnham and Rudy Valdez are the US Documentary Competition judges; Jennifer Kent, Mira Nair and Roy Bukas in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition; Mandy Zhang, Monica Hellström, and Shaunak Sen in the World Cinema Documentary Competition; Christina Oh, Danny Pudi, and Charlotte Regan in the Short Film Program Competition; Batmanglij was eliminated for the next competition section. All jurors also had previous projects at previous festivals.

“The Sundance Film Festival is known for discovering and engaging with visionary emerging artists. We couldn’t do it without our jurors, who thoughtfully help us identify and amplify the next generation of independent storytellers,” said Eugene Hernandez, festival director. We announce the talented and distinguished artists who make up this year’s jury.”

The Alfred P. Sloan Feature Film Award jury is Dr. Mandy Holford, Dr. Nia Imara, Matt Johnson, Theresa Park, and Courtney Stevens, and has already awarded the award to two films by Sam and Andy Zucchero. Loved Me.

“For our 40th festival, this year’s jury members are all artists who have films in previous festivals,” said Kim Yutani, Programming Director. “They know what it means to bring new work to the Sundance community, and we are so thrilled to be able to welcome them back to Sundance to enjoy the films our programming team has curated. We can’t wait to see what resonates with them.”

The Sundance Film Festival will be held from January 18-28 in Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah, with a selection of films available online from January 25-28.

The judging panel will reveal the winners from all five competition sections at an intimate awards ceremony on January 26. The winning films will then be screened in person and online January 27-28.
