Dhanki box office collection Day 13: Shah Rukh Khan’s film crosses Rs 400 crore mark worldwide, expected to overtake Chennai Express | Bollywood News
Dhanki Box Office Collection Day 13: Shah Rukh Khan-Rajkumar Hirani’s film falls short of Sanju’s record, but it may overtake Chennai Express by the end of its run.
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s new comedy-drama ‘Danki’ on Tuesday witnessed the steepest decline in collections after the festive season. According to industry tracker Saknilk, the Rajkumar Hirani-directed film grossed Rs 3.85 lakh, the lowest-ever single-day box office collection. A decline in collections was expected after the Christmas and New Year holidays. Dhanki’s 13-day total in India now stands at Rs 200.62 crore, while its worldwide collection stands at less than Rs 410 crore.
The film will soon overtake the global collection of Shah Rukh’s Chennai Express Lifetime, which earned Rs 423 crore. The film has already surpassed the lifetime collections of Raees and Happy New Year, but it will end up running with less than half of what Jawan and Pasaan earned worldwide last year.

Dhanki’s collection will probably not come close to Hirani’s posthumous work “Sanju.” The Ranbir Kapoor-starrer’s domestic box office collection ended at Rs 342, while its global total was Rs 586. However, ‘Danki’ will emerge as the highest-grossing comedy-drama in the post-pandemic era, when big action actors dominate the box office.
Saknilk reported that Dhanki crossed the $1 billion mark at the box office, making it the third consecutive Shah Rukh Khan film to achieve this feat after Pattern and Jawan. The combined box office revenue of the three films exceeds his 800 million yen. When it comes to global box office collections, Shah Rukh has made a dream comeback with three films that have grossed over Rs 2,598 crore. Final global numbers will be known once Dunki ceases operations.
Danki had the highest occupancy (16%) for the evening show. As the film won’t be released until the release of Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s ‘Fighter’ on January 25th, Dhanki will not be released at the box office along with Prabhas’ action film ‘Salaar’ which was released on December 22nd. I plan to get it. Revenue of over Rs 627 million worldwide.
