Koffee With Karan Season 8 Episode 9 Review: Ajay Devgn, Rohit Shetty Are Mature Pair After Aditya-Arjun
About Koffee With Karan Season 8 Episode 9
Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty were a welcome relief after last week’s jejune prattle of Aditya Roy Kapur and Arjun Kapoor, who were like self-important children compared to Devgn and Shetty’s wise observations about the entertainment industry and its changing ways.
Shetty laughed a lot, many times at himself and his efforts with success and failure. Devgn was “allowed” to make a joke about his loudmouthed wife Kajol. I say “allowed” because of what I heard. Devgn asked his wife’s permission to talk and comment about her on the show. So should every guest on Karan’s show who talks about his wife. The only guest who broke this rule was Deepika Padukone.
It is true that the two gentlemen on the couch, not their relatives, were the center of attention throughout the conversation. This time, Karan Johar shed his famous nonchalance and asked the guests about their enduring friendship in an industry where loyalties change every Friday.
It’s funny that Devgn chose to be cheeky when asked what the advantage of Shetty’s height was.
“A lot of activities can be done standing up,” Devgn replied while playing poker.
Shetty didn’t know where to look.
Taking a cue from his guest of honor, Karan asked Shetty how he feels about women punishing him. “Do you mean only women or men?” Shetty laughed.
So, just this once, the guests decided to be evil, not the host.
While Ajay Devgn’s energy levels were measured as usual, Rohit Shetty made up for it with his constant self-deprecating laughs and jokes. I would say Shetty was Kajol on the couch.
All in all, a welcome episode Coffee with Karan After a dry week.
