Shawn Levy to reteam with Ryan Reynolds in Netflix’s Heist Moive – The Hollywood Reporter
Shawn Levy is reuniting with Ryan Reynolds once again, this time for an untitled high-profile international heist project that arrived on Netflix on Wednesday.
The streaming giant won the feature package in what was described as a bidding war between eight companies. Dana Fox will write the script.
Levy will direct as well as produce the film through his own production banner 21 Rolls. He joins a production team that includes Reynolds, through Maximum Effort, and Simon Kinberg and Audrey Chun through their banner, Genre Films. Maximum Effort’s Ashley Fox and Johnny Parisot are also producing.
Details are being kept in a vault, but the project is being promoted as a high-quality film internationally. Ocean XI.
Fox came up with the initial concept, which she and Kinberg developed before bringing it to Reynolds. The project arrived in town last week and quickly escalated into competitive status, which was no surprise given the names involved, with Netflix emerging as the victor in an expensive battle. The project will not be implemented anytime soon as it is still in the early development stage. Reynolds also has a busy dance card, and is even linked to another hot package, The clamor of calamitywho makes the tours.

Levy and Reynolds have become one of Hollywood’s newest creative combinations, playing to each other’s strengths of quick wit and comedic touch. The couple worked together at first free man, The action-adventure film set within a video game was a surprise hit in 2021. It was followed by the more influential action-adventure film Adam Project in 2022, which debuted on Netflix and is the third most-watched film of all time on the platform in terms of streaming original releases in its first 28 days. The duo is now in the midst of filming their third movie together, Marvel Studios. Deadpool 3.
