2024 Big Screen Classics Lineup Revealed – The Hollywood Reporter

Who’s ready to return to Emerald City, Tara, Rock Ridge, Chinquapin Parish and North Shore High School next year?

Fathom Events on Thursday revealed the Big Screen Classics monthly film lineup for 2024, and among the films on the list, if you haven’t guessed by now, is Wizard of Oz (1939), Gone with the Wind (1939), Blazing saddles (1974), Steel magnolia (1989) and I mean girls (2004).

For the second year in a row, each screening comes with an exclusive and informative introduction by Leonard Maltin, who knows a thing or two about movies.

“Some of the greatest films ever made celebrate milestones in 2024, and Fathom Events, along with our studio partners, are proud to honor them as part of our Big Screen Classics Series,” said Tom Lucas, Vice President of Studio Relations at Fathom Events. He said in a statement. “Each of these films continues to attract and inspire new generations of fans, many of whom have never seen these beloved films on the big screen before.”

The 2024 series kicks off on January 28, 29 and 31 with the 85th anniversary screenings of the series. Wizard of Oz. The show continues with My Fair Lady (1964) in February, starring David Bowie A maze (1986) In March, Gone with the Wind in April, Steel magnolia in May, South Park: Bigger, longer, and uncut (1999) In June, The never-ending story (1984) in July, Rear window (1954) In August, Blazing saddles in September, I mean girls in October, The fifth element (1997) in November and White Christmas (1954) in December.

Fathom, which is owned by AMC Entertainment, Cinemark Holdings and Cineworld Group’s Regal Cinemas, says its 2023 line-up – which included… the birds, White House, Enter the dragon, Hairspray And Big Lebowski – It grossed an estimated $20 million at the box office, a record for a big-screen classic.

“We’ve seen an interesting phenomenon of old movies being made new again,” said Ray Knott, CEO of Fathom Events. “Whether it’s friends sharing classic films together or parents introducing their favorite films to their children, the theatrical experience has proven to be the best way to watch and relive these films with friends and family.”
