True Beauty’s Hwang In Yeop and Jung Chaeyeon to Lead New Romance Drama | web series
Korean drama sensation Hwang In Yeop, DIA’s Jung Chaeyeon, and Our Blues’ Bae Hyun Sung are all set to share the screen in the upcoming JTBC drama titled Family by Choice (literally the title). The show tells an exciting tale about friendship, family and first love. The popular Chinese drama Go Ahead, released in 2020, is the inspiration for this Korean version.
Hwang In Yeop, Bae Hyun Sung, and Jung Chaeyeon will star in Family by Choice
On December 13, JTBC confirmed that they have cast the star group for their new romance drama. The story revolves around three people who are not biologically related, but who swear they are family, given that they spent their youth together and are about to reunite after 10 years.

K-drama Family by Choice actress
In the series, Hwang In Yeop plays Kim San Ha, an intriguing character with a mysterious past who returns to the scene after ten years. Jung Chae Yeon plays Yoon Joo Won, an optimistic and determined character whose father runs a noodle restaurant. A charming and lively figure, Bae Hyun Sun takes on the persona of Kang Hye Joon, who, despite suffering hardships as a teenager, radiates brightness like the sun.

Although details about the plot are unknown, the K-drama suggests the possibility of a love triangle. Hwang In Yeop’s fans are hoping that the actor won’t end up in the second lead position again, like he did in True Beauty with Cha Eun Woo and Moon Ga Young.
According to the producer, “Family by Choice conveys the message that fond and joyful memories accumulate into loving adulthood. Witness the cast’s authentic performances as they bring to life the story of three people who built an unbreakable family for each other. Regardless of external considerations.”
About Chinese drama Go Ahead
Go Ahead, a 2020 C-drama starring Song Wi Ryeong, Jang Shin Cheong, and Dam Song Eun, became a huge hit of the year after its premiere. According to reports, Hwang In Yeop will play the main role in the Korean version.
