director ram gopal varma He joined the chorus of animal advocates: Movies have no impact on society; it’s the opposite. He said that movies were changing the behavioral patterns of the audience and they would have turned into gangsters after watching Sholay. In an interview with News9 Live, he also said that the controversial ‘Animal’ cannot be categorized alongside ‘Angry Young Man’ films such as ‘Deewar’ and ‘Agneepath’.
“One of the most successful films of all time is Sholay. People loved Gabbar Singh. They watched it over and over again mainly because of Gabbar Singh. Gabbar Singh was the bad guy. He cut off a cop’s hand and massacred a family. He’s basically making entertainment. No one takes movies seriously. When they saw Mad Max, no one rode a bike. Sholay was the biggest hit. RGV said that Hindi films changed in the 1990s as music companies started producing films primarily to sell cassettes. He said this led to the rise of romantic films and moved the industry away from the “angry young man” films that came to define the 1970s. The trend changed again in the 2010s, with Aamir Khan doing Ghajini and Salman Khan doing Wanted. It has only recently become established with the success of KGF: Chapter 2. “I don’t think Animal falls into that category,” he said. “The masala hero, the so-called angry youth, he works for good. He only kills bad people. He is very considerate about his love, romance. That is not the case with Animal.”
RGV described Animal as the most original film in the history of Hindi cinema and said the South should not praise director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s sensibilities. “Animal Has” starring Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandana, Tripti Dimri It generated a worldwide revenue of over Rs 750 million.
