Shah Rukh Khan reveals the meaning behind his new film’s title

After the hugely successful films Pathaan and Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan is looking forward to his third release this year, Dunki. He teamed up with Rajkumar Hirani, who directed blockbusters like 3 Idiots, PK and Sanju, for this social comedy about illegal immigrants. Dhanki is actually an Indianized version of the term ‘donkey route’, which refers to the route taken by illegal immigrants when crossing borders. This morning, with just 10 days left for the film’s worldwide release on December 21st, director Shah Rukh finally revealed the emotional meaning behind the film’s title. He shared the teaser of Dunki Drop 5, a promotional video for his song ‘O Maahi’, on his social media account. In the caption, he wrote, “Because everyone keeps asking what danki means? Danki means being away from the ones you love. And when you’re with them, you wish the moment lasted forever. Oh mahi oh mahi…” he explained. Feel the love before the sun sets on the horizon today! ” The 13-second teaser shows SRK wearing an all-black outfit, standing in a desert and striking his signature pose. The clip also states that this is a promo version and that there are other versions of the movie. The official release date of this song sung by Arijit Singh is not yet known. The first two songs ‘Lutt Putt Gaya’ and ‘Nikle The Kabhi Hum Ghar Se’ were well received by fans.
