The Israeli Defense Forces are closing in: the big claim of the “Fauda” creator

Თelaviv:

Avi Issacharoff, creator of the cult Israeli web series Fauda, weighed in on the airstrikes and ground offensive against Hamas in Gaza, saying the current operations are the result of what the terrorist group did in southern Israel on October 7.

According to him, Israeli forces are successfully achieving their military objectives in Gaza and are getting closer to the center of Gaza City.

“What we see today on the ground in Gaza is the result of the October 7 attacks by Hamas, and we must remember this. During the last week, the Israeli army started ground operations (in Gaza). It’s been eight days. It’s going, as I understand it, according to plan. They (Israeli forces) are making good progress on the ground, be it in the northern parts of Gaza like Behan and Belaya, or Gaza City, especially in the Zeitoun area,” Isakharof told ANI.

“There is progress and it seems that the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) is getting closer and closer to the center of Gaza City, which is the heartland of the Hamas regime,” he added.

The host of the show said that the October 7 attacks were the worst that Hamas has carried out on Israeli territory, as more civilians were killed in its homeland in one day than in Israel’s history since the Holocaust.

“After these (terrorist attacks), they (Hamas) went underground. They went under the houses and neighborhoods of Gaza in the hope that Israel would not attack them as they hid behind human shields, Palestinian civilians. They also thought that we would not target them in the areas where they are lying low for fear of losing many civilians,” Isasharoff told ANI.

“And with this (attack on the civilian areas of Gaza), the whole world accuses Israel of creating war zones, as we see. So, in a way, they predicted it, they wanted it, and they succeed. Israel is killing. Palestinian civilians, whether we like it or not, of course. But Israel is also making very impressive military advances and has managed to get to many of the Hamas leaders,” he added.

On October 10, Israeli actor Lior Razi, who gained world fame for his role as Doron Cabillo, his character in the movie “Fauda” and previously defended his country’s front lines as part of the IDF, joined the “Brothers in Arms” group, working as a volunteer group. Negotiations for the safe release of hostages in Gaza.

The actor from the southern Israeli city of Sderot shared a video on social media where he was seen with the president of the Israel Democracy Institute, Yohanan Plessner, and Avi Issaharov.

The video shows Hamas shooting a rocket attack on Israel.

Meanwhile, late Saturday night, a powerful explosion rocked the al-Maghazi refugee camp in the Gaza Strip, killing dozens of people and injuring scores, CNN reported, citing hospital officials.

Mohammad al-Hajj, director of communications at al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Hospital in Deir al-Balah, said the blast killed 52 people.
