Hansal Mehta’s ‘Gandhi’ web series is in the works for mid-next year; Adinath Kotare joins the cast

Award-winning filmmaker Hansal Mehta He has embarked on a new cinematic journey with his upcoming web series titled ‘Gandhi’, based on the historian’s insightful books Ramachandra Guha. The series explores Mahatma Gandhi’s transformative years as chronicled in Gandhi to India and Gandhi: The Years That Changed the World. The shooting of the serial has already started, with the initial schedule starting from the third week of January in Maharashtra.
Bori’s picturesque locations in Maharashtra set the stage for the first leg of the shoot, capturing key moments in Gandhi’s early life. After the Indian shoot is over, the production will shift to London, where Gandhi’s formative experiences will be brought to life on screen outside of India.
According to Hindustan Times, the London shoot is significant in showcasing Gandhi’s international exposure and educational journey. This segment forms a crucial part of the narrative, enriching the story with a glimpse of Gandhi’s worldly experience.
The collaboration between Hansal Mehta and actor Paritosh Gandhi, who portrays Mahatma Gandhi, marks their third venture together after the critically acclaimed successes ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’ and ‘Baai’. Paritosh is an acclaimed actor along with the ensemble cast alongside Gandhi Adinath Kotarewho plays the main character of the series.
