Michael Keaton’s Thriller ‘Knox Goes Away’ Heads to Saban Films – The Hollywood Reporter

Saban Films has seized the US rights to the Michael Keaton film Knox leaves Thriller, starring Al Pacino, James Marsden, and Marcia Gay Harden. Saban is eyeing a Q1 2024 theatrical release.

Keaton directs and stars in the new thriller as John Knox, a hitman suffering from rapid-onset dementia who is offered the chance to redeem himself by saving the life of Marsden’s estranged adult son.

While a murderer usually lost to his memory, cold and cautious, Knox finds himself racing against time as a lost and confused father tries to help his son cover up a violent and messy crime. For guidance, Knox turns to his friend Xavier (Al Pacino) to guide him forward through time.

Knox leaves It also stars Susie Nakamura as tough detective June Hogenaker, Joanna Kulig, Ray McKinnon, and Lela Loren. The film was written by Gregory Poirier and had its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival.

Keaton previously directed the 2008 films Mr. Fun, which he also starred in. His acting credits include Beetlejuice, Batman, Birdman, Highlight And Founder.

Executive producers include Jonathan Saba, Carter, Gillian Kaye, Nick Blasco, Wayne Carmona, David Gendron, Michael Hansen, Nate Holthuser, Andy Huang, Ali Jazairi, Scott Lake, Eric London, Donald Boving, Dina Randazzo, Ronald Richardson, and Viviana Zaragoitia .

The distribution deal was negotiated by Bill Bromiley for Saban Films, with CAA Media Finance and Verve Ventures on behalf of the filmmakers. FilmNation Entertainment represents international rights.
