Michael Keaton hints he’s seen a clip from ‘Beetlejuice 2’

Michael Keaton revealed that he saw pieces of Beetlejuice sequel, adding that he can “confidently say this thing is awesome.”

The actor reprises his role as Beetlejuice in the upcoming film, nearly four decades after playing the character in the 1988 Tim Burton-directed film. Burton also returns to directing Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

During a recent interview on SiriusXM’s Jess Cagle ShowKeaton described the sequel as “beautiful” visually as well as having surprisingly “emotional” parts to the story.

He said the film is “physically beautiful. The other one was very visually interesting and exciting, all of that but really beautiful and interestingly sentimental here and there. I wasn’t ready for that. it’s great.”

“It’s a lot of fun and I’ve seen it now,” Keaton added. “I’ll see it again after making a few small adjustments in the editing room, and I can confidently say this thing is great.”

Before filming, the actor also shared that he had to go back and watch the original film to get an idea of ​​what he was getting into again.

“I probably only saw it from the beginning once or twice,” he said. “So I hadn’t seen it for a long time, so I went back and had a look at it again.”

Earlier this year, Keaton explained that he and Burton agreed that they didn’t want the sequel to be too tech-heavy.

“It had to feel handcrafted,” he said. the people magazine last month. “What made it fun was watching someone in the corner holding something for you, and watching everyone in the shrunken head room saying, ‘Those are the people out there, running this stuff, trying to do it right.’”

The actor added: “It’s the most exciting thing when you can do it again after years of standing in front of a giant screen, pretending there’s someone across the road from you.”
