Kristen shared how self-conscious she was as a public figure, when there was always a sense of curiosity about her relationship with Robert Pattinson. The actress said she was inspired by Jodie Foster’s performance in the film Panic Room, which was directed by David Fincher. It helped her understand what lay behind her self-consciousness when people felt she was weird. “Everyone was like, ‘Come on, this is a trip, mate. You just have to remember.’ I was actually saying: “Don’t have sex with me.” “I was gay.”

Speaking about her experience working on the Twilight films, Kristin shared how the films – despite being inherently heterosexual – had a special layer of queer awakening associated with them. “I can only see it now. I don’t think it necessarily started that way, but I also think the fact that I was there at all, it was seeping in. It’s a gay movie. I mean Jesus Christ and Taylor (Lautner) and Rob and myself, and that’s very hidden and unacceptable “I mean, a Mormon woman wrote this book. It’s all about repression, about wanting what will destroy you. That’s a very gothic, gay slant that I love,” she added.

Kristen received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her work in the film Spencer. The actress is already preparing to attend the 40th Sundance Film Festival, where she will be presented with the Vision Award. Two of her films – Love Me and Love Lies Bleeding will be screened at the festival this month.
