Josh O’Connor and Cailee Spaeny will join Daniel Craig in the upcoming film Knives out 3 sequel, Hollywood Reporter He confirmed it.

Last week, writer-director Rian Johnson confirmed on X, previously Twitter, that Craig will reprise his role as Benoit Blanc in the upcoming murder mystery film. In a 45-second teaser video, he also revealed the title of the sequel as Dead Man’s Wake: A Knives Mystery.

“Benoit Blanc’s next mystery, follow-up to Take out the knives And Glass onionshe is called The dead man woke up“,” the director wrote in the caption of the post on Friday.

Netflix also confirmed Craig’s return and the title of the sequel on its Tudum site following Johnson’s post.

“That’s right, Daniel Craig is back as the suave Southern detective Dead Man’s Wake: A Knives Mystery, a new part of the Whodunnit film series written and directed by Rian Johnson. “Blanc will uncover a brand new murder mystery in an as-yet-unrevealed location, surrounded by a colorful new cast of suspects,” the streaming giant wrote.

The director also noted on social media that the production of the sequel is set to begin soon.

“I love everything crime related, but one of the things I love most is how flexible the genre is,” Johnson said on X before releasing the film’s title. “There’s a whole tonal range from Carr to Christie, and exploring that range is one of the most exciting things about Benoît Blanc’s filmmaking.”
