Highlighting the numerous setbacks he encountered while bringing his adaptation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth to life, he recalled that he was preparing to quit the film just two weeks before filming began. He revealed that in order to secure the locations he had envisioned for the film, he had to give up his directing, writing, editing, and composing fees to contribute to the film’s budget.
He recalled that due to budget constraints, the entire film squad could not travel from Mumbai to Bhopal. Faced with the dilemma of compromising locations to meet the budget, Bhardwaj details his negotiations with producer Bedi, who offered to donate an additional Rs 6 million to shoot in Bhopal if Bhardwaj contributed Rs 3 million. explained.
