Varun Tej talks about preparing for Operation Valentine: ‘A role like this is not easy and you are different…’ : Bollywood News
Varun Tej shared an insight about his upcoming role as an Air Force fighter pilot in the much-awaited film. Operation Valentineis scheduled to hit screens on March 1st.
Reflecting on the challenges of playing such a unique character, Varun said, “A role like this is not easy, you don’t have any experience and you don’t see Air Force people in your daily life.I had to do some homework. There was,” he said. “I wanted to make a film that the IAF would be proud of, so I had people from the IAF who cooperated with me from the screenplay stage.”
Emphasizing the importance of authenticity in his role, director Varun said, “Even after that, there were some IAF people on the set who tried to correct our body language and of course, “We were able to have conversations with them and learn and understand a lot about their missions, their training, and their daily lives. Especially like this one, we met a lot of fighter pilots. For a movie like this, it’s very important to bring realism to the characters, but if you’re portraying a true hero of our country, you really need to do it right.”
