Three theaters showing Hindi movies were attacked in Toronto, Canada, this week, according to police. Several moviegoers were evacuated after masked men burst into the theater and sprayed an unknown substance.

One of the incidents occurred at a movie theater in Vaughan on Tuesday around 9:20 p.m., according to a statement from York Regional Police.

Police said several audience members began coughing after the attackers sprayed an “unknown aerosol-based irritant” into the air inside the theater.

“Two male suspects wearing masks and hoods visited a movie theater, entered after the movie had started, and then walked around spraying an unknown aerosol-based irritant substance into the air. He fled before we arrived,” the York Region newspaper said. the police said.

There were about 200 people in the theater when the Hindi film was being screened.

The investigation into the incident is still ongoing, and police have released a photo of the suspect.

York police are in contact with both Peel and Toronto police about a similar incident that happened this week, CBC News reported.

“Coincidentally, all of these incidents occurred within three hours of each other on the same evening,” a York Police officer said Wednesday.

“Therefore, we are certainly investigating the possibility that these incidents are related.” Peel Police said in a statement that officers responded to a theater in Brampton on Tuesday after receiving a report of a substance being sprayed. admitted that he had been summoned.

Toronto police say officers received a report of someone detonating a “stink bomb” at a theater in Scarborough Town Center on Tuesday night.

The theater was evacuated and no injuries were reported.
