RIP Dilip Kumar: Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Ravi Shastri, Shahid Afridi pay tribute on actor’s demise

Legendary Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar aged 98 breathed his last on Wednesday morning. Dilip Kumar was suffering from breathing problems for a long time and was admitted to Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai on June 30. Kumar’s family friend shared the news on Twitter.

“With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, a few minutes ago. We are from God and to Him, we return,” Farooqi tweeted. Since then, the whole country, young and old is mourning the loss of the great actor, who many have called the first superstar of Hindi Cinema.

Known as the tragedy king of Bollywood, Dilip Kumar has inspired generations of actors in India from Amitabh Bachchan to Shahid Kapoor and the youngsters too consider Kumar as one of the best actors ever born in the country.

Cricketers too chipped in with their condolence messages as they expressed their grief on social media. Former Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar led the condolence responses. He wrote, “Rest in Peace Dilip Kumar Ji! There will never be another like you. Your contribution to Indian cinema is unparalleled and you’ll be missed dearly. My heartfelt condolences to Saira Banu ji & the family.”
