Starring Shah Rukh Khan Jawan was the highest-grossing Indian film of 2023. The film crossed his Rs 110 crore mark at the global box office, but after its release on Netflix, the film set a new benchmark. Attlee’s film was released in theaters on September 7th, and nearly three months later, on November 2nd, the film was released on streaming platforms with an “extended cut.”
According to the data available on the Netflix website, the film has been in the world’s top 10 (non-English) movies list for two weeks. In the two weeks since its release on Netflix, the film has amassed 3.7 million views and 10.6 million hours watched. The only other Indian movie on this list is the Tamil film Irgapatlu, which has 1,200,000 views and 3,000,000 hours of viewing time.

In India’s top 10 list, the Hindi, Telugu and Tamil versions of Jawan are topping the charts, occupying 3 out of 10 positions.

Also starring Nayanthara, Deepika Padukone, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani and Sanya Malhotra, Jawan became SRK’s second hit this year. Earlier this year, Shah Rukh was released in Pattern and its global box office collection exceeded Rs 1,000 crore. The actor is now looking forward to Dhanki. The film, directed by Rajkumar Hirani and starring Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal, is scheduled to release in December.
